DAN Asia-Pacific Courses to be Conducted at ADEX2008
The Divers Alert Network (DAN) will be running the following courses during ADEX providing a great opportunity for you to gain new skills and training certifications.
Friday 18th April
The DAN Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Provider is a 4-hr course that trains anyone with a previous CPR qualification in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). AED’s are an important aid in the management of cardiac arrest and often make the key difference between life and death. This course will run from 10.00am – 1.30pm
The DAN On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers Provider course is a 4-hour training program available to DAN Oxygen Providers, or approved equivalents. It provides training assessing neurological sign / symptoms of decompression illness and certain other injuries in the field. This course will run from 2.30pm – 6.30pm
Saturday 19th April The DAN Oxygen Instructor (Level 1) Course / Update. This course trains a Scuba Instructor (or Assistant Instructor with certain agencies) to teach the DAN Oxygen Provider program. It is a one day course and is a must for all scuba instructors. Candidates will also need to gain a DAN Oxygen Provider Certification prior to accreditation. Out of status DAN Oxygen Instructor can attend the afternoon session to upgrade their instructor status.
This course will run from 10.00am – 5.00pm
Sunday 20th April The DAN Diving Medicine & Resuscitation Course involves further training in physiology, diving medicine, accident management and resuscitation. Successful participants become qualified to teach the DAN CPR Course (BLS Pro), and if already a Level 1 DAN Oxygen Instructor, can upgrade to a Level 2 Instructor. All diving instructors are encouraged to attend as it provides valuable insights and updates on the latest information of diving accident management and resuscitation, including discussion and practice with the new CPR protocols. This course will run from 10.00am – 5.00pm
